Book Review
God and the Pyramid by Timothy Lamb
Chapter 10

After Russell's death, Joseph Rutherford (not Adam Rutherford), took over the Watchtower society and in 1928 banned pyramidology as satanic after the 1928 prediction of spiritual trouble by the pyramidologists did not pan out. Morton Edgar did not agree with this and started saying the Watchtower was wrong.  However, Edgar became even more convinced because he believed the time of spiritual trouble was predicted, and the fact that Joseph Rutherford nixed pyramidology was proof.  Edgar started teaching break-away Bible Student groups.  On a trip to Egypt, he met Theosophist William Kingsland who showed some interest but was not interested in the Biblical part. William Kingsland wrote The Great Pyramid in Fact and Theory volumes 1 & 2 (link to Amazon below) where he mentions Freemason (and Theosophist) J. Ralton Skinner (who may have been neutral in Zionism).  Edgar maintained contact with a Swedish Bible Student named Hugo Karlen. However, Edgar eventually totally followed break-away pyramidology groups until they faded into obscurity. He died in 1950.  Some Bible Students who did not follow Joseph Rutherford still continue to use his work.
