Summary of Chapter 5
God and the Pyramid by Timothy Lamb

Charles Smyth read William Petrie's book New Measurements of the Great Pyramid and used Petrie's more scientific measurements to recalculate his theories to try to save face, and so did his students, but it was not working and pyramidology almost declined totally.  Smyth eventually started to distance himself from pyramidology and quietly retired. One of Smyth's students, Colonel John Garnier, a British Israelist who believed that the Jews would be restored to Israel, wrote a book called The Great Pyramid: Its Builder and its Prophecy (PDF below).  He also wrote Symbolism of the Great Pyramid which I cannot find a PDF but there is a link to buy it below if you would like to send it to me. Charles Piazzi Smyth had popularized John Taylor and had added British Israelism and "Chronological-Messianice Theory".  The Chronological-Messianic Theory became popular with Adventists. However, if it were not for Adam Rutherford, Morton Edgar, and David Davidson, pyramidology would have died.
