Gods and the Pyramid by Timothy Lamb
Review of Chapter 3

Chapter 3 is all about Charles Taze Russell, the teacher of Morton Edgar who is one of the pyramidologists who is the focus of the book. Charles Smyth was growing in popularity in England but he was spread in the USA by one of his followers Joseph Seiss who published A Miracle in Stone in 1877. Mary Baker Eddy, founder of Christian Science, called the Great Pyramid a "Miracle in Stone
'' Seiss informed Russell that the pyramid showed the Pleiades system as the center of the universe and this was Jehovah's Witness doctrine until 1953. The chapter talks about Russell's involvement with Adventism and how his Adventist pyramidologist friend, Nelson Babour (who Russell sponsored), had come up with the year 1914 as the end of the Gentile Times. Russell visited the pyramids in 1892, 1910, and 1912. His student Morton Edgar said Russell at first wanted to focus solely on the pyramids but that this subject was too difficult for most so he simply made it part of a wider biblical analysis.
